Santo Assyrtiko 2011, Pdo Santorini

A rich and compelling assyrtiko with an almost mouthcoating palate of savory minerality and flavours of honeydew...
This pours fairly deep yellow-gold. It has a flinty, stony and almost peppery nose with yellow flower and guava...
A typical salty, mineral, very savoury and firm wine from the cooperative winery on Santorini, with palpable texture...

Bright yellow in color this wine opened up with aromas of ripe apple, pears, citrus fruit, light floral and a stony minerality nose. On the mouthfeel, medium bodied, bone dry, mineral driven with a complex sweet and sour fruit flavours and a lively acidity. This wine finish is clean, refreshing with loads of energy with flavours of grapefruit and a touch of honey. Here is a wine with tonnes of personality, great value and strongly recommended.

I've never tasted an assyrtiko i didn't like and this is no exception.
Lean, crisp wine with citrus and minerally flavours. I'd say this is as good as Boutari and maybe only a hair shy of Sigalas quality.
My weekly grilled whole fish wine. Heaven.

crisp, the perfect seafood match! reminds you of Seaside in Santorini !!!
Green, herbal and limestone with whiffs of earth aromas. Medium-full bodied with good acidity. Lime and mineral palate and balanced throughout. Finish that is a touch hot - serve nicely chilled. Tasted May/2013.
