Drink 2014 to 2020
The 2008 Alejandro Fernandez Tinto Pesquera Crianza, composed of 100% Tempranillo that was aged in oak barrels for 18 months, is a medium bodied wine, with intense aromas of integrated to aged red berries, oak, coconut and vanilla. Tannins are refined (decant for 30 min) and a finish is long. Drink now or for the next 5+ years. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 91 pts - recommended buy. Aug/12.

For the knowledgable wine host. They’re well read, know when they see a good bottle, and they appreciate something not well known. This is a super tasty Spanish vino from a great region. Skip the tacky wine bag and let the label and cork be wrapping enough.

Didn't take detailed notes, but this was quite fine. Balanced, with quite a lot of fruit still and lots to dig your nose into.
LCBO Old world-
This is the type of wine I would get if I were trying to impress someone that i knew had a mature palette- this is a typical spanish red of "old style" and would do some good to age-
i didn't like it at all.
smelled like feet, wood
medium tannins, syrupy and earthy
had an old world complexity that i could just not appreciate.
no.
