This lacks some depth and gravitas but it is nicely made with a fragrant aroma of jammy berry fruit, background herbs...

A very good red for the price!
Spicy bouquet with black fruit, some cedar, earth and licorice. Light- to medium-bodied with no overly strong flavours of blackberries and cedar/oak. Tasted Sept/2011.

Spicy, black cherry, blackberry. Palate follows through but with hint of mocha and chocolate.

Savoury nose that shows heat if served over 17C. High acidity and a lean palate really overtake the fruit. Chewy tannins indicate aging potential, but the lack of bright fruit at this young stage make it doubtful that this will benefit from aging. In a comparative tasting with two other ON meritage blends (current releases), this one was a distant third. Very difficult to recommend. If looking for something to pair with red meat, spend the same money on a VQA gamay.
