Morgan's 2007 Monterey syrah is an immediately appealing wine, with a well-measured mix of sweet dark berry fruit,...
This is typically deeply coloured syrah, but the nose is soft and diffused with some grainy notes, vanilla and ripe...

A really lovely wine with a nose I immediately described as "sexy": Soft, subtle perfume, sweet fruit and warm spice.
Old-world in style but not at all rustic or unfriendly. A complex but delicate palate of sweet, ripe fruit, fruitcake spice, warm alcohol, fresh herbs, soft tannin and a pleasant, mushroomy earthiness. Long finish. Perfectly balanced. A very well made Syrah in a more subtle, elegant style. It would be interesting to see how this develops over time but it's drinking perfectly well right now.

This deep color wine has aromas that reveal ripe cherry and blackberry, earthy, black pepper, clove and vanilla. The mouthfeel has rich concentrated flavours, balance acidity and dusty tannins. This wine finish is a bit hot (14.4 % alcohol), velvety with mouth coating sweetness and loads of flavours. Very nice

This tied for my first choice at our Wine Club's Shiraz tasting. I really enjoyed the fruity aroma and taste and it had a good sweetness to it. The only complaint I had was that it was VERY dry and left some in the group unsure about its drinkability.
