Domaine Vincent Paris Saint Joseph 2009, Ac
Rhône, France$24.20
Sadly, this wine really never developed any real scent or taste. It was a tad florally if you really tried to get something in your nose.
Château Lyonnat Emotion 2008, Ac Lussac Saint émilion
Bordeaux, France$19.95
I couldn't get past the dry, sour tannin taste of this wine. It had a great dark fruit smell and had a long finish.
Mission Hill Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2008, VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$27.95
This one was far too hot and spicy for me! Mt husband enjoyed it though with the long finish and deep scent.
Morgan Syrah 2007, Monterey County
California, Usa$24.95
This tied for my first choice at our Wine Club's Shiraz tasting. I really enjoyed the fruity aroma and taste and it had a good sweetness to it. The only complaint I had was that it was VERY dry and left some in the group unsure about its drinkability.
Santa Carolina Merlot Reserva 2010
Chile$12.95
A very heavy wine for me and a bit too sour on the finish. It definitely had some smoky and coffee flavours.
Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Shiraz 2008, Strathbogie Ranges, Victoria
Victoria, Australia$35.95
Brought this bottle to our wine club and it ended up being a wine that everyone seemed to have nothing bad to say about but no one wanted to run out and buy, especially for the revealed price. I liked the fruity aroma and it had a nice berry taste that I really enjoyed. It was a good sipper and would be a crowd pleaser for sure, but certainly not enough bang for the buck for me.
Wyndham Bin 555 Shiraz 2008, Southeastern Australia
Australia$12.95
This is the second Wyndham wine that has won me over at our Wine Club. From the first taste I liked it. It was nice and fruity, but the finish had a touch of sour that I could have gone without.
Sterling Vintner's Collection Merlot 2007, Central Coast, California
California, Usa$16.00
An okay wine for me. I liked the sweetness and the viscous consistency, but was a bit sour on the finish for me and a tad too dry.
Cono Sur Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2009, Maipo Valley
Chile$13.95
I also got the vinyl smell from this wine as well a a distinct leather scent. Not a winner for me.
Small Gully Formula Robert's Shiraz 2006, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$19.95
This wine was very hot at first and I couldn't get over the alcohol concentration. After giving it some time in the glass it became a lot easier to drink and the taste took on a more fruity tone.
