Well, I loved it! An absolute pleasure to taste. I’m assuming the name ‘Roulette’ implies a gamble in terms of percentages of Viognier, Chenin Blanc, and Chardonnay used in the blend. Aromas of peppermint, vanilla, and honey and literally an endless array of flavour. (Northof9finewine, April 2011)

Medium gold colour with hints of brass suggests oxidation for a 2008 white. The rich deep colour is attractive and leads into an equally attractive nose of papaya, deep honey, orange blossoms and hints of licorice root and butterscotch. A very exotic wine. Well balanced mouthfeel with great lime leaf and tangerine flavours with a hint of nut and forest floor. Well integrated high alcohol (14.5%) and medium length. A wine of distinction. The efforts of the wild fermentation, unfined and unfiltered wine do not go unnoticed.

An intriguing blend of South Africa’s signature Chenin Blanc (46%), Chardonnay (41%) and Viognier (11%). The latter hails from France’s Rhone region. It shows forward aromas of peach, honeysuckle, lemon, and pear, with hints of vanilla and cedar from aging in French oak (40% new). This wine jumps out of the glass and lingers on the palate, leaving a charming freshness and minerality on the finish.
