The 2007 Segal's Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a medium bodied, integrated wine, with intense aromas of raspberry, leather, oak and subtle clove and dark liquorice. It has a nice structure with nice acidity, refined tannins (decant for 1 hour for it to open) and a medium to long finish. It is ready to drink now or can be cellared for 5+ more years. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 91.5 pts - recommended buy. Tasted Nov/11.

Absolutely stunning! I agree with Steve Thurlow 100% on this one... Complex, VERY velvety with a long and smooth finish...

I rated this lower last year. My steak overpowered it a bit. Current review Sept 2012 - fantastic. Some earthy/smokey tones, spicey, berries, all well integrated. Terrific with a rack of lamb. I should have bought more of this, regrets...
Enjoyable. Great value at $18 a bottle.
Medium bodied with intense notes of leather, wet tobacco, cassis, liquorice and anise. There is a currious note of curry as well.
Very nice finish with well integrated tannins. An interesting and complex wine with bold flavours that is in the old world style.
Decanting is a must.

This wine has a LOT of tannin right out of the bottle so definitely heed Dan Trcka's advice and decant for at least 1 hour. If you do manage to wait it out, the wine is quite nice, but I can't help but think that there might be some better buys for $18.
