So easy to drink but at the same time it has a lot more body than I expected from a Beaujolais. The fact it is from 2009 probably explains it too as this was a great year in southeast France. Tasted December 2012.
For the longest time, Jadot's Beaujolais Villages was the best selling red wine in the LCBO Vintages program.
Expect light to medium bodied Gamay with strong notes of red fruit. It is clean, fresh, and well balanced and will pair well with light finger appetizers. This is a great stand-around-the-island kitchen social wine.

From my first sip of 2004 Louis Jadot in the evening of 27-Dec-2006 in Paris and sopping it up with crusty day-old baguette for breakfast in our hotel room, to the plank-grilled salmon we had for dinner last night (31Jul2011) accompanied by a fresh and exceptionally drinkable 2009, this is by far the best bottle to date.

This is a good example of the Beaujolais style of wine out of France made from the Gamay grape. It's clean and youthful as it is meant to be, with flavours of black cherry, licorice and even bubble gum. Not bad at $15.95. Drink young, not meant for aging.
