Sella & Mosca Riserva Cannonau Di Sardegna 2011, Doc
Sardinia, Italy$17.95
Classic style at a bargain. Savory, concentrated... plum, cherry, leather and forest floor. Complex and aromatic, pair drink with ribs, lamb or grilled game
Errazuriz Max Reserva Syrah 2014
Aconcagua Valley, Chile$9.75
Deep and rich, with some spice, plum and savory flavors..but this lacks focus and is too oak infused.
Vignoble Guillaume Pinot Noir 2014
France$21.35
The aromatics of this wine are distinctly pinot and burgundian. Fruit, spice and a hint of funk had me very excited. On the palate it did not deliver quite as nicely, it is a bit thin and lacking in substabce. Decent for the price
Cono Sur Organic Pinot Noir 2015
Central Valley, Chile$13.99
Packed with bright red furit, herb and meaty aromas. Not so elegant, but good. Like blaufrankish meets new world pinot and syrah.
Brumont Torus Madiran 2011, Ac
Southwest, France$17.05
Good madiran at a great price. Coarse, red and dark fruit. Does not finish all that great, aim at this price its a definite buy.
E. Guigal Côtes Du Rhône 2012
Rhône, France$20.95
Really impressed with this effort. Dominates Black cherry with dark fruit and savory Notes have support. Good acidity and structure, this is an easy drinking wine (even at 14%) That goes well with a whole array of foods. Highly recommend
Domaine Tortochot Gevrey Chambertin Les Jeunes Rois 2013
Burgundy, France$54.75
Light, juicy and fruity. Lacks some complexity and finesse for something in this price range, tastes like entry level, modern style burgundy. At half the price this would be good, but still not a great value
Jean Perrier & Fils Apremont Cuvée Gastronomie 2015, Vin De Savoie Apremont
Savoie, France$15.75
Clean, Citrus, Mineral / Saline. Good balance. Could drink this all night
Kim Crawford South Island Pinot Noir 2015, Marlborough
Marlborough, New Zealand$22.95
Fruit is a bit candied and lacks pruity of fruit
Robertson Winery Number One Constitution Road Shiraz 2013, Wo Robertson
South Africa$29.35
This succeeds in showing that new world milk chocolate/sugared jam deliciousness factor, but lacks in precision and fruit purity. Not completely over the top oak and alcohol, and i can imagine many would really enjoy its mouth-coating richness. Good, but not so interesting.
