Alois Caulino Falaghina 2016, Igp Campania
Campania, Italy$25.06
Chill it and enjoy it... just about perfect for a Tuesday summer eve. Clean unassuming drinkable goodness.
Domaine Brusset Laurent B. Côtes Du Rhône 2016
Rhône, France$20.15
Another find thanks to the Wine Exchange!
Delicious CdR South, every bit as good as any of its famous neighbours.
Chateau De La Ragotière Les Vieilles Vignes Sur Lie 2016, Muscadet Sèvre Et Maine
Loire, France$26.13
Cortonesi Lèonus Rosso 2016, Igt Toscana
Tuscany, Italy$25.00
Very drinkable for a vino da tavola. With a good pasta, friends, and a lively conversation, this wine will play a great supporting role.
Viñademoya Centenaria Mencía 2016, Do Bierzo
Galicia, Spain$15.75
Mencía is such an interesting grape. It seems that even within Bierzo itself it can vary a lot, showcasing great sensitivity to factors like altitude or sunlight or ripeness, etc. This wine is very enjoyable, and the medium to full body and dark fruit in the nose are somehow reminiscent of a Nortern Rhône Syrah.
Alta Alella Mirgin Cava Brut Nature Reserva 2016
Spain$28.39
Very nice Cava. Greets you with a green apple welcome, which is then complemented with delicious acidity and dry feel refreshing the palate.
Tenuta Montemagno Violae Rosso 2016, Monferrato
Piedmont, Italy$28.68
Talking about the Wine Exchange, this one was a definite hit. Lovely blend, predominantly Barbera I believe, medium body, very gentle and pleasant from the moment it greets you with an almonds tinged nose.
Terre Di Bruca Syrano 2016
Sicily, Italy$25.51
There are hits and misses in the Wine Exchange selections, but even after considering the personal taste factor, this syrah felt like more of a miss. No CdR north here, this is more in overtly fruity, ripe, sweet territory (blame it on the Mediterranean if you may, but not sure that would be entirely fair.)
