Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Knights Valley, Sonoma County
California, Usa$39.95
Dry, smooth tasting cabernet sauvignon. Blackberry flavours. Nice, but not overpowering tannins. Long finish. Good balance. Goes well with steak. Tasted July 2011.
Clos Haut Peyraguey 2007, Ac Sauternes, 1er Cru
Bordeaux, France$38.00
Was initially put off by the dusty nose, but was pleasantly surprised once it hit the palate. Wonderfully creamy flavours of butterscotch and tropical fruit. All in all not bad, however, better Sauternes can be found at a lower price. Tasted January 2012.
Closson Chase Closson Chase Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009, VQA Prince Edward County
Ontario, Canada$39.95
Light and refreshing. Very mild tannins. Lovely nose of sour cherries and red fruits. Distinct minerality. Tasted January 2012.
Ciù Ciù La Merlettaie Offida Pecorino 2009, Doc
Marche, Italy$16.95
Excellent Italian white wine. Wish I had bought a few more bottles. Smooth, flowery, and light fruit flavours with a hint of green apple. Best served a little closer to room temp, as previously mentioned. Tasted December 2011.
Fantinel Vigneti Sant'helena Ribolla Gialla 2011, Igt Delle Venezie
Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy$17.75
Villa Mt. Eden Grand Reserve Bien Nacido Chardonnay 2007, Santa Maria Valley
California, Usa$19.95
Wow, what a nice chardonnay. Enjoyable smokey flavour with a nice buttery finish. Terrific value at $19.95. Will definitely pick up a few more for our cellar. Tasted November 2011 and March 2012.
Cooper Mountain Reserve Pinot Noir 2008, Willamette Valley
