Medium ruby colour. Full nose of dried fruit and garrigue. Medium weight, round with nice dried fruit flavours; tannins fully ripe at this point. Cleanly made. Fine stuff for the price.

Volcanes De Chile Tectonia Pinot Noir 2012, Bío Bío Valley

Medium ruby in colour; attractive. Bright red fruit on the nose -- cranberries. Med bodied with good structure, and a long spicy finish. A bit hot (you notice the 14% alcohol). Flavours are in the PN range with small berries and a bit of earth, but I would have liked stronger variatel character. Clearly well made, and I agree with JS that it could benefit from a bit of time in the cellar; not too long, as I'd worry about the alcohol overwhelming the freshness. Interesting, and worth a try but I'm not rushing out to buy more.

Attractive pale ruby colour. Nose has violets antd ripe berries with a bit of dustiness. Light to med bodied, with a seam of minerality and decent complexity. A touch austere yet, so probably better in a year or two. Good, honest Pinot for the price. Update Mar 2018: Has rounded out nicely now, and drinking beautifully. +1 on the score.
