This nicely captures that wild brambleberry, fig, violet allure of pure zin. There is some youthful leesy character...

I'm 90 on this ZIN! Although it's not the most sophisticated wine, it's well made and drinks nicely. I even picked up some lime peel or citrus notes to the otherwise sweetly fruited tannins. I'd say it's medium bodied and pretty lean by California standards.

A Cali Zin showing some restraint. Dark ruby with a purple hue. I really like the juicy acidity as a counterweight to the pronounced red berry, cherry, plum and fig fruit. Baking spice, vanilla from judicious oak, pepper and some heat. Dusty sweet tannins. Decent length. A very BBQ friendly wine. April 2014.
very nice
