An intriguing blend that showcases pinot noir despite a significant dose of syrah. Bright cherry flavours, a pleasant...

The 2011 C'est La Vie Pinot Noir Syrah 2011 has likable aromas of smoke, Earth, raspberry and blackberry. It is an extra-dry (despite off-dry taste), medium bodied, fruity wine; it is on the acidic side, with refined tannins and medium finish. It is food friendly; drink now and for the next 2-3 years. My impression: NOTHING SPECIAL, 87 pts – correctly priced. Tasted April/13 at WineAlign Cru tasting.

Really enjoyed this blend when I first tasted it a few months ago, and I've come back for more on a few occasions. It's the type of wine that seems to appeal to a lot tastes — fans of Pinot and those who like a little bit more spice. A smoky aroma and a nice bit of cherry on the tongue. A bit more tannin from the Syrah may have cranked it up to a better level. Still quite nice around the table.
