A simple nose of red berry scents with earthy and plum notes. Sweet red fruit tastes with earthy notes adding a level of complexity. Low acidity, medium body and a firm finish.
Prefered this sub-$10 Sangiovese to the Farnese Sangiovese Daunia.
Tasted January 2012.
Not bad for the price.
Unless you serve this wine relatively warm, you would be better off with almost anything else. You get what you pay for here, and not a penny more. Nothing wonderful, but can be horrible at cooler room temperatures. There is too much competition at or near this price point. Unripe tannins are the main issue.
