I’m all over this like a fat kid on a chocolate bunny. This slides down your gullet like a viscous milk chocolate fondue. It goes perfect with a roast leg of lamb, but please make sure Momma pulls it out of the oven before it turns ashen grey.

I anticipated much more heat with the whopping 15.4% alcohol factor but this Cali Cab from Sonoma County is nicely put together. The nose is rich with a mix of raspberry, blackberry, and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, chocolate jumped out of the glass (I love it when that happens) with again, a mix of red and black fruit flavours and a nice spice to the finish. Quite good. Opaque and dense, it is bursting with ripe cassis, raspberry, plum and blueberry aromas and flavours. Spicy oak, cinnamon and vanilla add to its layers. The typical hot finish of wines with a high alcohol level (this one has 15.4%) does not come through in the palate, but it still shows as somewhat on the heavy, jammy side
Good everyday wine or if you have friends over next week-end. Consistant aromas of baked plums/prunes with vanilla and mocha notes. Slightly sweet. Medium body. Not as good as the 2006 released on January 9, 2010 at $17.95.
