Ruffino Il Ducale 2007, Tuscany

This is an excellent modern red with a Tuscan feel to its styling, flavours and aromas. There is a fair bit of oak...

Okay for the price.
The 2007 Ruffino Il Ducale is a medium bodied wine, with notes of integrated raspberry, cedar/thyme, coconut and vanilla. Tannins are refined (decant for 1 to 2 hours) and the finish is medium to long and smooth. Good to drink now and for the next 5 years. My impression: NICE, 88.5 pts - a bit costly in my view. Tasted Apr/11.

High acidity and took about an hour to really open up. Was not as impressed as I thought based on the reviews.
Tasted May 2012.
