Dark purple. Dark fruit, tar, licorice, pepper, earth, smoke. Comes across a bit young with plentiful fairly rough tannins and med acidity. Decent length. Some interestng things here. March 2011.
The nose explodes with dark fruit, cassis, and spice; it's almost too much for my taste but it just might suit yours if you're looking for an aggressive Italian bombshell. On the palate, the texture is bone dry, concentrated and everlasting. This will benefit (and mellow) from a few years in the cellar. Drink after 2013 and pair with a rich meal.
