Vino de Murchante, famous wine from the village in northern Spain, 8 km from Tudela and 96 km from Pamplona, crafted from select Tempranillo grapes grown on old vines. Winery founded in 1958.
Intense with great freshness on the nose and ripe red fruit, wild cherries and strawberries, predominating. Vibrant, rich and full-bodied.
Decant and serve at 14ºC with poultry, red meats, stews, cold cuts and cheeses.
A fresh, lively Tempranillo from Navarra. Medium bodied with red cherry/strawberry fruit, a bit of an herbal overlay and very little oak that I can detect. Finishes with lemony acidity. Not the most complex wine you will tasted, but quite delicious and a superb value. Can't remember the last time Vintages had a red for $11.95, especially one that is this good. Tasted March 2019.
