Sokol Blosser Pinot Noir 2014, Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley

A little extra time in bottle seems very likely the final catalyst to set Sokol Blosser’s pinot noir in a firm,...
Quite ripe and open, with notable resinous wood influence and high-toned fruit, slipping into the baked red berry...

Showing some maturity, this has an elegant and highly aromatic nose of tea leaf, dark cherry/berry, and beetroot. The medium+ body has a nice, plush mouthfeel with very nice aroma replays, plus forest floor and earthy notes adding complexity. Wood is nicely integrated. It was very good acidity and excellent finish length. Drinking really well right now. Tasted Apr/2018.

A 2014 Pinot Noir from Oregon. Typical Pinot Noir with earthy woodsy aromas like damp leaves, forest floor, funky wet shoe. Some sour cherry comes through with dried flowers and corriander. It's smooth easy drinking with balanced acidity, alcohol and light tannins. Pinot Noir is expensive and this one comes in at $35 CAD. Overpriced in my opinion, but Oregon is an interesting up and coming wine region so if you like Pinot Noir this will satisfy.
