Chiarlo’s Palás is quite something, a sumptuous and spirited nebbiolo that combines the ying-yang Barolo senses of...

It's only wine but I like it
It's only wine but I like it

A little difficult to believe, but this wine was enclosed with one of those cheapo composite corks....really? on a wine retailing for $40+? Anyway, I shouldn't complain, I picked up 2 bottles for less than half price (the LCBO works in mysterious ways). The wine itself is typical Nebbiolo - red fruit, dried fruit, high acidity, firm tannin, floral aromatics. Not top kit Barolo, but very good indeed. Should keep another 5 years or so. At about $42 original price, fairly priced (for Barolo). At $19.25, a steal. Tasted June 2019.
