Grant Burge The Holy Trinity Grenache/Shriaz/Mourvèdre 2005, Barossa Valley, South Australia
South Australia, Australia
$29.95

A nicely blended red wine from Australia, with grenache, shiraz and mourvedre. Smokey, with taste of herb and berries, and has a hint of rooty taste. I like it less than an unblended grenache or unblended shiraz.

Loma Larga Merlot 2007, Casablanca Valley Bottle
Loma Larga Merlot 2007, Casablanca Valley
Chile
$15.95

A nice 2007 vintage merlot from Chile. Full-bodied, with a long finish, and tastes of wood, black currant, and heavy tannin.
I think it needs a few more years of aging.
At this price, it is probably worth cellaring it for a while. Good with lamb and stews.

Frescobaldi Castello Di Pomino 2006, Doc Pomino Rosso
Tuscany, Italy
$19.95

A fine, refreshing red wine from Tuscany, with berry, flowery and fruity taste. Refined, elegant and smooth. Goes well the curry chicken, beef and lamb. The fruity finish kind of makes the curry meat taste better. i would buy this wine again and again. This is a true Tuscany beauty.

Château De St. Preignan 2005, Ac Côteaux Du Languedoc

$12.35

Full body, dense, and heavy tannin.
Taste better when served chilled. Best to wait 2 to 3 years for tannin to soften up.

Rocca Delle Macie Chianti Classico 2007, Chianti Bottle
Rocca Delle Macie Chianti Classico 2007, Chianti
Tuscany, Italy
$18.95

I was fooled by the name Tuscany on the wine bottle. I thought one would not go wrong with a 2007 Chianti Classico from the world famous Tuscany of Italy and I bought this wine without hesitation. I was wrong. I don;t like it. There is some strange sour taste in this wine that i don;t know how to describe it. It could be tannin.
I would not buy it again. 2007 is supposed to be a good year but not for this wine. There is no depth, just a strange sour taste.
