Domaine Bois Malinge Muscadet Sèvre Et Main 2013, Ac
Loire, France$13.95
Pale straw in colour with a light intensity on the nose. Aromas of citrus, minerality and apple. Palate is extra dry with light body and crisp acidity. Good balance with a shortish finish. A decent aperitif wine. As with all Muscadet, would be good with mollusks, oysters and such. Possibly with an edam or emmentaler cheese.
San Raffaele Monte Tabor Soave 2013, Doc
Veneto, Italy$13.95
This Soave demonstrates a nose of grapefruit, Bartlett pear and match stick. Dry with a light+ body, medium acidity, average balance and a short finish. This is a prototypical simple everyday white. Tasted Feb, 2015.
Domaine Vincent Sauvestre Bourgogne Chardonnay 2012, Ac
Burgundy, France$19.95
Golden straw in appearance and light on the nose with aromas of apple and oak. This is a dry medium weight Chardonnay with good balance and an average finish. Nothing special and definitely some better buys at $18.95.
Mollydooker The Boxer Shiraz 2012, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$29.95
Black cherry in appearance. An intense nose with aromas of jam, pepper and a bouquet of smokey wood and chocolate. Dry to off-dry sweetness with ripe sweet tannins. Good balance. Definitely one to pair with big game such as caribou, venison, kangaroo! or old cheeses.
