Intense deep opaque ruby in colour with great clarity. Sour cherry, blueberry, mocha, vanilla and spice on the nose, with great harmony and focus. Full-bodied with a very long finish, with some refreshing acidic sourness blending well with the rich, smooth tannins. Delightful experience. Tasted June 2014.

Medium purple core with light purple rim. Medium intense nose of ripe (perhaps overripe) plums, meat, leather, pepper and subtle oak spice; very Rhône, very alluring. Taste did not live up to what the nose promised. Medium- body, high acidity and medium firm tannins. I found the acidity too strong for the structure of the wine; significant puckering going on.
