Château Pey De Pont 2009, Ac Médoc
Bordeaux, France$17.75
Delicious, intense, complex savory flavours and almost some citrus rinds (?) in the fruit tones - quality here is way outside of its weight class. Bought a case. Decant 20 mins and it will make you a believer in what 2009 is delivering in Bordeaux.
Malivoire Gamay 2010, VQA Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$17.95
Not bad!
Fruity, light, I get some mineral in the taste that the tasting notes don't mention, but miss the wood. Not a lot of alcohol, which is nice.
Good value, great summer wine.
Trapiche Reserve Syrah 2008, Mendoza
Argentina$11.95
Drinkable but very much not to my taste - notes of grape Kool-Aid, I didn't get much of Syrah's spicier taste, just fruit and sweetness.
Vila Regia Reserva 2008, Douro Valley, Portugal
Portugal$11.95
Awesome value - tastes like a $22 CDR. Delicious, easy-drinking, lower alcohol. Berry tastes but not sweet. Really good stuff.
Château Semonlon 2008, Ac Haut Médoc
Bordeaux, France$11.90
Nice, light, and drinkable. Not a dazzlingly complex wine or anything but perfectly pleasant to have with dinner. Reasonable value.
Tinto Da Anfora 2007, Alentejano
Portugal$11.85
This has really grown on me after a couple bottles.
Surprisingly rich for the price point, i taste herbal and mineraly flavours more than fruit. Delicious and recommended.
