A big ripe, verging on over-ripe rustic red here from the Puglia region. Red cherries, leather, dried fruiot and soft tannin. Seems to me a bit more residual sugar (13g/L) than in prior years, at least by my palate. I have always enjoyed this wine but I hope this doesn't veer into the cheap Cali Zinfandel cherry-cola type of wine in future vintages. As it is now, a good value wine for bbq fare. Tasting june 2015.
