Just a touch of garnet on the rim at 10 years age. The nose is complex and intense with lots of coconut and vanilla,...

I have had a few high priced busts recently, so when I opened this one and the cork was rotten, it was oh, no, not again. But it was definitely not again. This wine is wonderful. Lots of pepper, complex and smooth. It is everything I hope for in a decent wine. Ah, finally.

There were no surprises here - this was a wine full of wood and spice notes, with a good depth of flavour and a dusty, drier finish. Expect aromas of cedar, sandalwood, cassis, pepper and dried herbs. This was good value for an aged wine bought from the LCBO that can be opened right away.

Not sure if I'm missing something. The wine is smooth and pleasant at first, but quickly turns sour and bitter with rather harsh alcohol burn. We both finished the bottle, but agreed it wasn't worth a second purchase (especially at the price). Disappointing, as it was purchased to celebrate a good day.
