It's only wine but I like it
Approaching its 22nd birthday, this St. Julien is in a sweet spot. No sign of oxidation, this wine is a lovely balance of dark fruit, herbs, olives with oak very well integrated into the mix. Tannin is silky smooth and the flavours linger nicely on the finish. Not a blockbuster, but in keeping with the vintage. Sometimes I wonder if these merely "good" years represent better value in classified growth Bordeaux that the hyped years like 2005 and 2010. This is really fine wine. Drink now or over the next few years. Tasted May 8,2026.
