Very deep dark ruby colour with brownish edges. Jammy black fruits on the nose; ripe aromas of blackberry, black cherry and licorice anise. Medium to full bodied, flavours of blackberry, fig, and black olives with tobacco notes. Velvet-like texture with light tannins. Long warm finish with nice aftertaste.
Tasted December 2012.
This amarone missed the mark for me however it was drinkable, I would have prefered just touch more sweetness and depth of flavour, I drank this wine along with a montepulciano d'abruzzo table wine that cost 1/4 the price and the difference was very small, even the flavour were similar although the table wine lacked the length of finish i would have liked, all in all a porr value in my opinion and i would not buy this again.
