Thought that I had left this in the cellar too long, but opened last night but was pleasantly surprised. If this was medium bodied before it is full bodied now. I am sorry that I rushed a couple of years ago to drink my 95 & 99 Brunello's. Aging ability does vary by year but I am now on a mission to age at least 1 Brunello vintage for 20 years based on this wine. A 2003 was not supposed to age this well
The 2003 Fuligni Brunello Di Montalcino is medium bodied, with intense aromas of INTEGRATED to aged red berries (namely red currant), leather, cedar, vanilla and liquorice. Tannins are refined to tannic (decant more than an hour) and the finish is medium to long. This wine is wonderful to drink now, but still has a potential to age and can last for more than 10 years. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 91.5 pts - would recommend. Tasted Nov/10.
