An excellent midweight red from the Rhone Velley in France.
It has a complex if somewhat subdued nose of red cherry...

This wine is mostly Grenache, with Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan.

Med. density ruby/garnet colour. Med. intensity nose of leather, black plum, violet, black currant, smoke, and vanilla.
Dry, full body, med. to med.-plus tannin. Smoked meat, black olive, tar, black plum, black currant, "garrigue", and leather. Very good quality.

Nice cotes. Some chalky tannins.

It's only wine but I like it

Medium to full bodied CdR. While not particularly expressive aromatically, this delivers on the palate, with ripe flavours of red fruit, local herbs and hints of pepper and vanilla. Finish tapers off a bit, but a solid mouthful and true to its south Rhone origins. Good value, for drinking over the next couple of years I should say. Tasted June 2014.
