I love it when the LCBO discontinues wines, and you can pick up something like this for under $8. This wine for this price is a steal. The nose has nice dark fruit, tobacco, oak and spice notes that are indicative of Bordeaux wines. The taste is unimpressive at first - but if allowed to breathe for an hour or so, nice cherry and plum flavours start coming through.
The $7.95 price is the LCBO blow-out price. Originally in the $14 range I believe. A shame that this has been discontinued, a very respectable and representative red Bordeaux.
