Fielding Cabernet/Syrah 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Red Blend
Ontario, Canada
$20.25 (258657)
A blend of cabernet sauvignon (65%), syrah (29%) and cabernet franc (6%), this demonstrates the red-friendly conditions of the 2010 vintage in Niagara. There’s plenty of complexity and concentration in the ripe flavours, some sweet fruit at the core, and a spine of refreshing acidity. It’s medium in weight, easy-going in tannins, and well structured, and makes a versatile red for the table. Score: 89 (Rod Phillips, WineAlign.com, Mar 2013)Critic Reviews (2)

You have to smell this wine…it’s incredible. It packs a loaded bouquet of smoky vanilla oak, BBQ meats, bacon and ripe blueberries. If that doesn’t sound good enough, the palate is medium to full bodied offering a cool climate finesse to these otherwise warm grown varietals. This wine is structured with tight tannins. After decanting, green bell pepper flavours emerged to complement its long flavourful finish.
