This is a classy barbera, nicely dressed up and balanced with ripe fruit and generous new oak, that wrap a shawl around this' grapes skeletal acidity. It's still only mid-weight, but the length and complexity are very good to excellent, with ripe currant-raspberry fruit, meaty notes and vanillin. A touch sour and metallic on the finish but the length is very good to excellent. Best 2014 to 2016. Score: 88(David Lawrason, WineAlign.com, Feb 2013)Critic Reviews (3)

Barbera is easy drinking, food friendly and (usually) a good price. Slightly bloody, red berry, red licorice aromas followed by a mid weight palate with bright red cherry and spice notes. Vibrant acidity, and mild tannin, enjoy with everything from spicy charcuterie plates to gnocchi with pork ragu.
