I'm so glad that kept this wine till today. Produced in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba, wine has a garnet red colour with deep brown edges, and a bouquet of ripe fruits with spicy hints of cloves and pepper. Chocolate, tabac and dark fruit on the nose. Unfortunately still short to medium finish. Tannic but balanced.
Paired with ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach, soused with butter with sage

A blend from several Nebbiolo vineyard in the region. The colour is alarmingly faded - beyond brick hued and approaching orange; highly perfumed with floral and cedar aromas; herbal teabag characteristics on the palate with little in the way of fruit remaining; interesting to taste but obviously not what consumers are looking for in a bottle of Barolo. 'Pre-aged' a bit and drifting into some brick tones. Little fruit, lots of hot alcohol and stale black tea tannins, minimal acidic balance.

This might be 'past peak' if it ever had one.

Not worth 30 bucks...guess you gotta spend the big cash for a good Barolo.
