A super ripe, new world style montepulciano, with loads of black fruit compote, dried fig, prune and bruised banana...
Intense, rustic dark and slightly bitter, not uncharacteristic of the appellation. Wood treatment lends a smoky...

A score of 85 seems a bit harsh. Full body wine with decent finish. Definitively an Old World taste to an Old World wine. Tasted April 2012.
The 2007 Terra D'aligi Tatone Montepulciano D'abruzzo is medium bodied, FRUITY to integrated wine, with aromas of yeasty blackberry, oak, coconut and vanilla. Tannins are refined (decanting for more than 30 min will ease the yeasty notes) and the finish is medium. Cellaring will most likely not improve this wine. My impression: NOTHING SPECIAL, 87 pts - the 2006 vintage was great, not sure why this one is so different. This wine of this quality should sell for under $10. Tasted Jan/12.
