The 2008 Sterling Vineyards Merlot is a medium bodied, FRUITY to integrated wine, with nice aromas of blackberry, black cherry, smoke and wood. It has a nice acidity, tannins that are refined to tannic (decant for 15 to 30 min) and a long finish. It will be at its best from 2013/14-2018. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 89.5 pts. Tasted Dec/11.
