Blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot, and 25% Syrah. The medium+ intensity nose seems a bit shy with perfumed aromas of dark red and black cherry, baking spice, vanillin oak, and a touch of shoe polish. It's medium-full to full-bodied on the ripe, chewy palate with dark red cherry, black plum, earthy woodspice, licorice, and vanillin oak flavours. Acids are juicy and well-balanced, while the tannins are smooth, supple, and well-integrated. Touches of pepper join the savoury, earthy, and woodspice notes on the finish, with very good length. Tasted Oct. 2022.
