Leeuwenkuil Reserve Red 2017, Wo Swartland

From an unspecified blend likely dominated by Rhone varieties, this is an impressive firecracker red with all kinds...
Aside from a curious spritz on the palate, there's much to like about this red blend from the Swartland. It's smoky...
Could not be from anywhere but the Swartland with its musky red fruit in stacked layers plus the reductive mustiness...

This blend of 60% Shiraz, 22% Cinsault, 10% Grenache, and 8% Mourvèdre has savoury, meaty aromas joined by black peppercorn and red berry notes. The medium+ bodied palate is spicy with nice aroma replays on the flavour profile and supported by fresh acidity and fine, supple tannins. Very good length on the savoury finish. Tasted Oct/2019.
