Tastes like a Bordeaux blend made in California. Which it is. Correct flavours (say them with me...creme de cassis, mocha etc.). Found it a little thin mouthfeel wise. More merlot needed maybe? $70 bucks value? Not a chance. Go get a Rioja reserva or gran reserva instead. A good wine; but good wine should not cost $70.
