I rated this wine 93 when tasted a year ago. It still represents huge value if you like traditional styled and mature...

Did John Szabo have a bad bottle? I'm much closer to David Lawrason on this one.
Still fresh, but smooth and powerful. Cassis flavours. Dense and inky, and lots of sediment.
Tasted April 2015
I first opened the bottle and on the nose immediately knew it was unclean. I took a brief swish in my mouth and less spat it out than spewed it out violently. It was completely acidic. There has been a bacterial bloom of some kind - acetobacter, if I had to guess - that made that bottle completely undrinkable.
Both my bottles had gone bad, looks like faulty corks. Weird for the country which harvests half the world's cork.
