Wynns Coonawarra Estate Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Coonawarra, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$27.95
Fine, elegant, precise. And so drinkable. Cabernet ripened to perfection with grace and charm.
Wynns Cabernet Sauvignon Coonawarra 2013
Australia$39.95
Gorgeous, lifted, layered nose. Iron/graphite minerality right off the bat, followed by beautiful cassis, dark cherry fruit, and just a touch of cigar box. Vibrant acidity, youthfully firm but very fine tannins, superbly balanced. The purity and ripeness of fruit is excellent. Complex and long. GV and sure to keep a decade. 17+
Chateau D'armajan Des Ormes Sauternes 2009
Bordeaux, France$26.29
Beeswax, baked pastries, jammy apricot, honey, orchid florals. Ripe, sweet, and intense on the palate but lacking Some acidic brightness and power. Long and quite complex. not bad
Finca Los Primos Malbec 2014, San Rafael
Mendoza, Argentina$11.59
Inviting nose of ripe dark fruit, with lots of floral note, some dried green herbs, and dark chocolate. Good structure, depth, and balance; it's delicious and fantastic value.
Blue Mountain Pinot Blanc 2014, Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$17.90
This wine is absolutely rocking. It showcased so much confidence in icts restrained, Old World, site-driven style of winemaking and it absolutely succeeded at it. Incredible balance as well entre mineral, fruit, freshness, acid, astringency, etc. It got better on the second day open, and I think it'll Develop wonderfully over the next 4-5 years.
Graham's Late Bottled Vintage Port 2009, Douro Valley
Portugal$17.95
A nose of blueberry, prune, and blackberry jam with some medicinal, caramel, and liquorice overtones. Decently balanced palate with some spice and dark fruit with a significant amount of alcoholic heat. Quite a bit like grapey liquefied liquorice, not really my thing
Meyer Okanagan Valley Pinot Noir 2013
British Columbia, Canada$29.95
Cherry red. Beautiful redcurrant, flowers, spice, earth, and sandalwood on the nose. Juicy, light, and quite complex. A touch of bitterness detracts but very fine overall. 17/20
Santa Carolina Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2014, Colchagua Valley
Colchagua Valley, Chile$13.95
The wine opens with a fruit-forward nose with blackberry and red cherries in bolstered by large cedar-y spice and oak Rather significant herbaceousness. The Somewhat rough and rustic on the palate continuous in nature, with Rather dusty tannins, earthy flavors, and thin red fruit. Acidity is fine and the wine: has a definite freshness goal all in all a simple and thin wine Rather That absolutely requires food to shine
Orofino Hendsbee Vineyard Riesling 2013, VQA Similkameen Valley
British Columbia, Canada$22.00
Balance and terroir guide this wine from the get-go. The nose is adorned with still somewhat reserved notes of lime zest, white flowers, and slate, the elements showing very nice harmony and layering. The palate is bone dry with electric acidity. It coats the palate quite smoothly despite its obvious youthful tightness, carrying the flavours beautifully and with great energy and focus. This wine has all the markers for excellent ageing potential. It's a shining example of what BC can do. 90+
Culmina R & D Red Blend 2014, BC VQA Golden Mile Bench, Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$21.75
Very good ripeness Achieved in this wine showing lots of pure, dark plum and fruitcake along with green herbs and a lashing of overt oak. Chalky tannins, youthful astringency, and Rather lean and angular - more so than expected. Would-have loved to see less oak. Wait until 2018, May very well Improve
