Meyer Old Block Pinot Noir Mclean Creek Vineyard Ok Falls 2014, Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$50.00
The Pinot Noir Old Block comes from the oldest vines of Pinot Noir (1994). This parcel is part of the McLean Creak Road Vineyard. The vintage 2014 is the first cuvée produced exclusively from this plot. Previously, the must of this plot was part of the blend of their cuvee McLean Road. Here we are dealing with a wine that seems to me much more finished than the other cuvées. Tasty, tannins fine and well integrated and a desired freshness, as can give us this wonderful grape that is the Pinot Noir. After having tasted their four cuvées, I can only conclude that the Pinot Noir cuvées of the Meyer family are undoubtedly part of the finest wines of this grape variety on Canadian soil. Congratulations to Jak and Janice Meyer and their talented "winemaker" Chris Carson.
Château Mont Redon Châteauneuf Du Pape 2012, Ac
Rhône, France$49.95
I like these vintages categorized as being average. The work of the winemaker becomes essential to the success of the wine. Especially when we are dealing with wines of appellations giving, in general, dense, structured wines, with assertive tannins. Here, this Châteauneuf du Pape of the 2012 vintage of Mont Redon, delivers a fine bouquet, with the scents of black fruits against a background of garrigues. And this mouth with supple tannins that give place to a fruity matter, which, faith, exerts a certain charm. I love
Beni Di Batasiolo Barolo 2013
Piedmont, Italy$29.80
Bouquet characteristic of the wines of Barolo, scents of coffee, fruits and dried walnuts on a background of fine spices. The latter has a texture with fine tannins and well integrated. And the legendary freshness of the varietal Nebbiolo at the end of the mouth.
Hatzidakis Santorini Assyrtiko 2014
Greece$27.25
Personality asserted that this Santorini white. A bouquet of flint fragments (flint), honey and flowers. Unctuous texture, even greasy, oily ... but what structure of mouth! An acidity well in place that comes to cut in the fat and leaves us on salty notions long wish. Great freshness! Thank you and rest in peace the Artist.
San Felice Il Grigio Chianti Classico Riserva 2013, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$27.49
Here is the archetype of good Chianti. Ripe cherry, sandalwood, coffee and spices charm us. A texture in the mouth with pleasant tannins, without any astringency. Immediate pleasure.
William Fèvre Champs Royaux Chablis 2015, Ac
Burgundy, France$28.95
Delicious this Chablis Champs Royaux 2015 from William Fevre. From the opening, the charm of the scent "rifle stone", white flowers and ripe pears. Tender and spherical in mouth texture ... Is it the vintage sun effect that was the 2015 or the breeding? Knowing that at Fevre, the wines have a passage under wood. Which gives them a certain roundness, even a certain fat. And here in the finale, the legendary freshness of the Chablis wine takes place and comes to take us a certain smile of satisfaction. That of Pleasure.
Château Mont Redon Lirac 2014, Lirac
Rhône, France$21.95
I was mentioning to a friend recently how I admired the 2015 vintage in France. Of course the whites, coming out of this vintage solar may perhaps lack a little tension, but the red ones by cons! This one coming from the Valley of the Rhone is a good example. Generous with nose as in texture of mouth. It is "gourmand", it is spherical (round), ripe but not jam. Beautiful, tender tannins. And this beautiful end of mouth that reminds us of dark chocolate. Drinking :-)
Beni Di Batasiolo Langhe Rosso 2015
Piedmont, Italy$16.40
A bouquet of small fruits that reminds us of the kirch, with its smell of black cherries and spices. A wine Pleasure, which delivers all its attractions in youth. What Happiness
Cote Rotie Delas Seigneur De Maugiron 2011
Rhône, France$86.99
Just a WOW! Optiwine for 2 hours and what result ... A bouquet all in delicacy, so representative of the Syrah of the Northern Rhone. The olive is full of nose, the effluvia of bitumen and sweet spices that intertwine with floral accents, the incarnated charm. And what freshness in the mouth.
Jean Claude Boisset Pouilly Fuissé 2015
Burgundy, France$24.45
The new vintage of Pouilly Fuissé (2016) from Jean Claude Boisset comes gradually on SAQ tablets. Much more typical than the previous vintage ... The tension is back. A beautiful bouquet of white flowers and peach. Attack frank and lively in the mouth. Succulent
