Church & State Quintessential 2009, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$54.90
This Bordeaux blend from the Okanagan Valley has great intensity and the sturdy tannic structure expected from a cabernet based blend. The fruit profile is ripe verging on stewed. Fifth Leg Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Merlot 2011, Western Australia
Western Australia, Australia$9.45
This red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot from Fifth Leg showcases each varietal beautifully. Cassis, blueberry and damson plum are complemented by aromas of black pepper, dark chocolate and dried mint. The wine is full bodied, with lovely complexity and a fairly long finish. The tannins are slightly harsh and would do well with being opened and decanted ahead of time. Tasted at WWAC Sept 2013.

Mission Hill Sauvignon Blanc Rsv 2012, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$19.99
British Columbia is better known for bold reds, chardonnay and pinot gris but this sauvignon blanc is a beautiful example of the varietal. A ripe, rich, fuller bodied example with honey notes, tangerine, and macadamia along with the typical green grassy notes of sauvignon. This wine has a long finish with softer acidity than most sauvignon. Tasted at WWAC Sept 2013.
Caliterra Tributo Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2013, Leyda Valley
San Antonio Valley, Chile$14.95
This, medium bodied Leyda Valley Sauvignon Blanc is loaded with green vegetal characteristics. Green bell pepper and tomato vine overpower the subtle white grapefruit and lemon. The wine has nicely balanced acidity and good length on the finish but this is a wine you will want to drink very cold to soften the aromas. Tasted at WWAC Sept 2013.
