Domaine De Longue Toque Gigondas 2010, Ac Bottle
Domaine De Longue Toque Gigondas 2010, Ac
Rhône, France
$22.25

While there is some fruit and mineral in this wine it is mostly masked by strong acidity and pointlessly high alcohol. The back of the bottle says the finish is spice but it is in reality only hot alcohol. However, I don't want to jump all over G. Meffre, for a hot wine it actually works when you want to warm up on a cold day in the winter and when you've finished the bottle you don't really care!

This is a Grenache and Syrah blend. Not for the faint of heart, the first attack on your senses is the smell as you bring the glass to your face. Then the follow through with the spicy Syrah that hits so hard up your nose you have to cough. WOW! I'm buying this one again!

This smell of this wine will remind you of summer and the fact that you haven't cleaned the green bin out for a long time. As for the taste it has that swampy character and a bit of that vinegariness that only someone without knowledge of temperature control can only achieve. You would be missing out on all of this if you spent a few more bucks on a cab. sauv.

What a fabulously uninteresting wine. There is very little fruity bouquet which follows through with a watery taste. Sip after sip I keep expecting more but get nothing. You might as well go to a do-it-yourself place and throw in a bag of oak chips and for $6 you have the same thing.

The first bottle I had must have had cork taint and I gave a bad review. The second time around it was quite a good value for the price. Smooth, nothing outstanding, but no flaws.

This is a really full bodied, robust wine that needs strong game meat. Have it with roast pterodactyl and tarragon.

This wine has everything going for it, nice smell, nice oak, vanilla, a bit fruity but there is one thing seriously wrong. It is SO SOUR!!! I'm talking face contortingly sour. If you like sucking on lemons this wine is for you, otherwise I recommend only using this wine as a marinade as the acid will help soften the meat. I can't scroll below 75 otherwise I would.

The aroma is nice and if smelling this wine is all you will do with it then by all means buy it. Drinking it is another matter. My advice to suppress that gag reflex is to have copious amounts of water handy and gargle if you have to. It may be embarrassing but it will get you through the evening.

Buttery, sour with something unpleasantly unflavourable that can only be described as unwashed feet.

Gold Medal winner at Concours Général Agricole 2011 in Paris and it shows. Lychee, spice and honey as usual for a Gewurtz. This one is a little bit sweet but balanced with acidity. Have it with friends. Better yet, don't have it with friends; that way you get more!
