Alamos Malbec 2007, Mendoza
Argentina$13.95
Pretty good Malbec. Easy to drink. No too powerful, nor too dry. Enough fruit to keep you entertained but not a BIG Malbec that we sometimes see.
Value for the dollar - I would recommend buying a few bottles. This wine will go a long way.
Batasiolo Gavi Del Commune Di Gavi Granée 2007, Docg
Piedmont, Italy$17.95
I expected a lot more from this wine.
It was clean and delicate but did not have enough distinct flavor to really excite my palate. It's nose was more impressive than the taste itself.
De Bortoli Windy Peak Pinot Noir 2008, Victoria
Australia$13.25
After enjoying De Bortoli's Gulf Station I decided to pick up the Windy Peak.
Tasty wine with nice fruit bottom. It lingers for a short while but is overall clean and not overly dry.
Very drinkable and reasonable value.
Campo Viejo Crianza 2003, Rioja, Spain
Spain$14.55
For the price, this was an above average Rioja wine. With a few hours of air it had a very balanced taste and was very drinkable (review based on 2004 vintage).
Château Ducla 2005, Ac Bordeaux Supérieur, Domaines Mau
Bordeaux, France$14.95
For the price, this is a reasonably good Bordeaux. Medium body, slightly dry on the palate and a short finish make for very relaxed drinking while still keeping it interesting. Wish I bought another few bottles.
