Strewn Terroir Riesling 2006, VQA Niagara On The Lake

Unfortunately, just not terribly good. A nice, if typical Riesling nose but on the palate this wine just falls apart. Very disjointed, with too much acid and not enough flavour coming through until the finish, which fades quickly.

Quinta Da Fata 2007, Do Dão
Portugal$16.95
Very tasty and well made without being too over the top or ripe. Nose of ripe cherries, raspberries, cranberries, smoke, violets, vanilla and a hint of anise. The flavours carry through to the palate, supported by subtle oakiness. Decidedly European, but with just the right amount of new world sensibility. Nice acid balance, silky tannins and a nice, long finish.
