This wine has a lovely smokey character gained form its time aging in oak that makes it quite attractive on the nose. The taste has cassis notes and a slight, almost molasses flavour to it. This is a very different Coonawarra Cab when compared to the Wynne's - more of a heavy hitter - but it lacks the complex elegance to push my rating higher.

Tasted Blind at a Beefsteak & Burgundy Club event, May 2015.
