Le Arche Atesio Appassimento Rosso 2010, Igt Veneto
Red Blend
Italy
$16.95 (320747)
80% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, this presents a very nice concentration and complexity of aromas. The palate is equally exciting, revisiting the intense notes of cherry, plum, spice, licorice, and leather with great success. The intensity is marvellously maintained throughout the impressive length of the finish. Try this one with braised beef short-ribs, or celebrate this ancient technique with an oldie but a goodie: Venison Steak Diane. (VINTAGES panel, Oct. 2012)Critic Reviews (2)

My first impression was a taste that should not be there. Maybe Appassimento failed to cover up a lack of ripeness in the grapes. But over time I noticed this less, and the last glass was quite pleasant. But overall not a very good value.
