Maipo Valley, Chile
$16.95 (57513)
The GR Carmenère is a mix of fruit from three Maipo sub-regions and a 91/9 blend of carmenère and petit verdot that spends eight months in French and American oak. The colour is inky/tar black, the nose a mix of red fruits oolong tea and spice. The palate is leafy with sweet milk chocolate and coffee notes flecked with spice and dried herbs. Rich bold and carmenère it calls for grilled beef. Score: 89 (Anthony Gismondi, WineAlign.com, Mar 2013)Critic Reviews (2)
